At the Wild Wool Barn you will find not only a cosy, luxury bunk house but also a heritage treasure trove of wool crafts and a natural dye-plant garden, with a view to die for!
The Wild Wool Barn shares its location with The Wild Wool Workshop and dye plant garden, where owner Susan spins and weaves the local Herdwick wool and grows dye plants, for their colour, in the most scenic veg garden in the country (well we think so!). If you want to get away this summer and enjoy mountaineering in the Lake District and enjoy a craft experience, then we have everything here under one roof. Surrounded by classic high peaks: Great Bourne, Red Pike (2 of them), Great Gable and the whole Ennerdale Horseshoe you can walk from the front door of The Wild Wool Barn straight onto some of the classic routes in the Lake district, and take part in a Heritage craft course – spinning and weaving. Classes take place on many weekends and mid-week. (check out Wild Wool Workshop facebook page and web site for course dates and details.) The Barn sleeps 6, in one bedroom (living room, kitchen and bathrooms included), with the option to increase your group size by bringing tents to enjoy your exclusive use of this peaceful and largely undiscovered corner of the Lake District.
