Thanks to a grant from Northumberland National Park Authority, at Ilderton Dod Barns we now have an upgraded lockable cycle shed with storage for up to 10 bikes, electric charge points, work station, tools, pressure washer and comprehensive cycle guides including maps with suggested on- and off-road routes locally. We’re located on an 1800 acre working hill farm in the north of the Park, on one of the loops of the Sandstone Way mountain biking route.
If road cycling is more your thing, we’re 1.5 miles from NCN route 68 and Pam, one of the owners, is a keen cyclist so has come up with multiple circular quiet road routes of varying distances.
Return at the end of the day to large powerful showers, washing machine, drying areas, a wood burning stove, background central heating, an outdoor brazier, barbecue and extensive views of the remote landscape.
Both properties are sole-use with The Barn sleeping up to 9 (1 king, 1 bunk, 2 singles plus optional sofa bed, 2 Z beds and room for a cot) and Cuckoo Cottage next door sleeping 2+ (1 king plus sofa bed and room for a Z bed or cot). Up to 3 dogs allowed in The Barn and up to 2 in the cottage. The garden and bike shed is shared between the properties with plenty of space, and almost unlimited parking.
There’s no minimum stay but the longer you stay, the better the value.
