At Ilderton Dod Barns, located within Northumberland National Park, most of our lambs will have been born and the calves will be getting turned out on our hills with their mothers. With 1800 acres of our access land and thousands more acres beyond, it’s a nature-lover’s paradise. The farm is criss-crossed with footpaths and bridleways but we also have 2 shorter, marked paths which don’t require a map.
April / May is also bird-nesting season so you can’t fail to see grouse, partridge, curlew and (you may not see it but you will probably hear) our cuckoo! For the more adventurous, the Sandstone Way cycle route has a loop right past the door, and the roads are incredibly quiet making road cycling a pleasure. If you crave a bit more hustle and bustle, Alnwick is only 15 miles away and there are several beaches and castles within a similar distance.
