Downham Camping Barn beckons as it basks in the March sun so get your rucksacks packed and those walking boots caulked with dubbin… it is still a little damp under foot! and head for the hills in this secluded corner of the National Landscape where you can camp without the inconvenience of canvas in our ‘stone tent’.
The barn comfortably sleeps 12 on the upper sleeping floor and has recently been remodelled to allow for more community space on the ground floor kitchen area. Boasting a log burner the kitchen area has a long communal table and benches with plenty of room for the group chefs to cook up a storm. All equipment must be brought by guests, from bedding to cooking stoves, and there is a fire pit outside for those needing a full camp fire fix. And all must be removed at the end of your stay.
