Lledr House

..offers a warm welcome..

I don’t speak Welsh  so I must rely on the questionable resource of online translation services, but they assure me that Lledr – as used in the name of Lledr House Hostel – means leather. The Benny Hill contingent reading that will jump to their own conclusions but I wonder if it is used to describe the distinctive red cedar cladding used all over this large and amazing looking hostel. A former YHA hostel, like many of its brethren it is now independent and has been improved and renovated.

Its sits in its own patch of woodland with a stretch of the river burbling past. The whole Valley is lovely and it is only a short stretch from Dolwyddelan with its castle guarding a precipitous crag.

Nearby, of course, are  the many attractions of Snowdonia – with Betws-y-Coed, stunning Llyn Elsi and Tree Tops high rope course particularly close. Whether as a traditional tourist or a rugged adventurer braving the mountains, Lledr House offers a warm welcome. Their mission statement cries out proudly on their wesbite: “To provide a budget, family friendly stay at our accommodation without compromise on comfort.”

And maybe a leather sofa.
