Looking for something for this weekend or next week away from the usual hot spots, Carrshield Camping Barn might be the place for you.

We are tucked away in the West Allen Valley on the northern side of the North Pennines AONB, surrounded by valleys and moors. This area is truly the last wilderness in England.
Although we are rural, there is plenty to see and do, such as walking, cycling, birdwatching, or just sitting by the river and watching the clouds float over your head.
Hadrian’s Wall and Kielder Forest and Water are within easy reach; the Lake District is only an hour away, the glorious Northumberland coast is about 90 minutes in the opposite direction.
Isaac’s Tea Trail and the Sea 2 Sea cycle route pass close by; we also have a series of walks that lead you around the area from the door. These walks are on our website and free to download on the ViewRanger app.
For those that favour pedalling on two wheels, the quiet country lanes and bridleways run from the door in most directions.
Finish the day with a log fire and watch the stars emerge in the dark skies above, with the background noise of the river babbling over the rocks.
