Right on the North Coast 500.
Running West from Inverness, across the peaks to Applecross, up through the Torridons and weaving in and out of the West Coast. Right across from Durness to John O’Groats and back south through The Black Isle and on back to Inverness, never once travelling south of The Great Glen an never once leaving the stunning scenery of the Highlands or the coast. The North Coast 500 would be, in the words of the late Iain Banks “A Great Wee Road”. Except that its a mighty 500 miles long. I sort of expect to see the Proclaimers coming the other way.

Heralded by CNN as one of the Worlds Top Ten Road Trips, the quiet single-track roads snake for miles over moorland as they skirt the coast of the North of Scotland. The route turns at Kinlochewe to head East away from the West Coast to the beginning of the loop at Inverness.
