This great little hostel has the Gold Award from Green Tourism, the Green Leader award from Trip adviser and is consistently featured highly in local and international Eco award listings.
Jessie Mac’s aims to be the greenest small hostel in Scotland. Sustainability is very important, they minimise impact on the environment and support the local economy . Since taking on the business in 2013 they have almost halved the amount of energy used per guest and are now recycling 90% of waste. The hostel purchases only fairly traded tea, coffee, sugar and bananas and have won a Taste Our Best award for sources the majority of produce in Scotlad.
