Great country for walking and cycling. Great town for arts.
Hebden Bridge likes to think of itself as outside the mainstream. The Hebden Bridge Hostel is no exception. Have a look at the website and witness the hand drawn illustrations; the championing of localism; the multiple uses of the word ‘quirky’. They even have a page called ‘Hostel Quirks’ which is really the house rules – Vegetarian self-catering only, acoustic instruments but no drums please – there has to be a story behind that!
The hostel is bang in the middle of loads of great walking: the Hebden Bridge Loop on the Pennine Way, the Calderdale Way, the rugged scenery of Hardcastle Crags as well as cycling: National route 66; The West Yorkshire Cycle Route, Pennine Cycleway, Hebble Trail and Mary Towneley Loop all close by.
The town lives up to its reputation, it has charmingly renovated its Victorian industrial architecture and built a vibrant arts and music scene with a range of characterful venues.
