Hawse End Centre – Outdoor Activity Residentials for schools

An amazing location on the edge of Derwentwater in the lake District with extensive grounds, Hawse End Centre offers qualified instructors and well-organised adventures in whole range of outdoor activities.

Run by the local authority for youth group or school trips. The Hawse End Centre  is housed in a converted country mansion, steep roofed and slate-built in the Lake District vernacular with spacious and elegantly proportioned rooms including games room, classroom and lounge. Whoever built this house chose an amazing location with extensive grounds right down to the waterfront. It looks across the lake, past its islands to pretty Keswick and the mountains beyond. A near neighbour is Catbells, a mountain described by Wainwright as  “one of the great favourites, a family fell where grandmothers and infants can climb together, a place beloved.”

Because of its favoured location, the centre offers qualified instructors and well-organised adventures in whole range of activities: Sailing, Rock Climbing, Kayaking, Orienteering, Caving, Mountain Walking, Ghyll Climbing and the list goes on.

Consider it strongly for you next group visit.
