Kendal Hostel is OPEN FOR BUSINESS and our friendly Ginger Tom @Georgehostelcat is getting a bit lonely without a steady influx of visitors. He likes you enjoys the log burner and free refreshments
In the lounge is a FREE Pool Table where you can either watch the TV, a DVD or read a book from our library. We also have a boxful of maps and walks which you can borrow to get you straight out into the countryside. Scout Scar a precipitous limestone escarpment only 2 miles walk from the hostel and the views are fantastic over the Lake District and Morecambe Bay. The other side of town we have the historic castle Kendal Castle ancestral home to Katherine Parr the last wife of Henry VIII and from here again you can see the Lakeland hills and the Yourskhire Dales
