The Dolphin Dunbar, fomerly The Dolphin Inn, has undergone a major refurbishment to turn it into a 27 bed hostel, and will soon be welcoming guests. Cyclists planning to do the Coast & Castles South Route or the John Muir Way will be delighted with this new low cost accommodation on the route.
The Coast & Castles South is a 200 mile route running from Newcastle to Edinburgh. While the John Muir Way (which is also a great walking route) stretches for 143 miles through Scotland’s heartlands from Helenburgh in the west to Dunbar on the east coast. John Muir, famous as being the father of national parks in America, was born in Dunbar.
