Even in the middle of October there can be wonderful sights to behold on the moors above Carrshield

The weather for most of the UK at this time of year can be quite gloomy, the North Pennines AONB is no exception, but it is often possible to have those dramatic moments when you least expect.

The sky was clear above me as I took this view looking towards Killhope Law rising above the Eats and West Allen valley’s. The breeze was coming form a south easterly direction and blowing low cloud or mist over the moors. With the sun trying to escape over the top of the clouds it was quite a magical moment to watch the clouds acting like water and seeming to flow down the fellside towards the valley.
Book a break with us an you too could find these moments of magic when you least expect them. Our website has a range of activities to do in the area as well as details of how to book.
We look forward to seeing you.
