It can get busy on the highest mountain in Wales but we have lots of other gems right on Lodge Dinorwigs door step to explore and enjoy without the hussle and bussle.
One of the top attractions in our neighbourhood is Snowdon. And while it is a beautiful mountain with stunning views, the amount of people walking up to its peak can be a little bit off-putting for other walkers.
This shouldn’t stop you from coming to the area to explore the mountains.
One of our favourite walks to escape the crowds is the Elidir Horseshoe. You can walk out of the hostel and you’ll be on the top of Elidir within an hour and the views over the Snowdon Massive are fantastic on a clear day. Then keep walking along the top ridge to take in the whole panorama of the mountains.
Why not try another peak and explore the Ogwen Valley? It’s just a short drive to the bottom of the paths and a couple of lakes make a perfect hiking location for the warmer summer days. Just remember it’s Wales and if you fancy a proper swim, you might need a wet suit to enjoy it for longer 🙂
