Set in the secluded West Allen Valley, Carrshield Camping Barn offers you the ideal location to explore this quiet area that teems with a variety of things to do. If history and heritage are your passion, then there are Roman remains such as Hadrian’s Wall, Vindolanda and Epiacum close by. For wildlife, the fells and moors abound with a variety of birds at this time of year, from Twite, Stone Chat and Sky Lark to Curlews and Short-Eared Owls. The villages in the area have craft shops and cafes to while away the time at a more relaxed pace. For those with the energy there are a series of curated walks or runs on our website that take you from the doorstep around the area.
