Low Gillerthwaite field centre is set in the heart of beautiful Ennerdale, England’s quietest and least inhabited valley. Only the Coast to Coast Walk passes through. Right through the old farm yard of Low Gillerthwaite Field Centre. Low Gillerthwaite rests at the feet of Pillar, Steeple and Red Pike. Access is by a forestry track which flanks Ennerdale Water leaving the nearest public road about 2 miles away. Ennerdale can be considered as a wilderness influenced by forestry plantation and sheep farming. The Centre is situated on permanent pastures at the head of Ennerdale Water. The centre can accommodates individual and groups, they can also arrange for qualified leaders to provide activities for your group. Activities like climbing, canoeing and lots of others !
