Elterwater Hostel has many years of experience accommodating school groups. We have a full suite of risk assessments, staff who are knowledgeable on food allergies and intolerances, and understanding support for teachers who we know are on 24/7 job while on the visit. All this is served up behind a child-friendly atmosphere, making their night away from home, an enjoyable experience. With dedicated leaders rooms and child freindly shared rooms, we can accommodate up to 38 guests. Perfect for a school class, a subject-specific visit or base for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

Decent food, not orange or deep fried but also a willingness to serve pasta with ketchup
A flexible approach
An understanding that the teachers are working 24/7 while on the visit, and need a few extras like tea and understanding.
Public liability insurance of £5M.
Fire Risk assessment and appropriate ‘other’ risk assessments.
Safe ‘play’ space on site.
Classroom space in the Dining Room, where we can seat the whole group to do written work.
Projection screen when required
Knowledge of local activity providers.
