Dog Friendly Accommodation at Carrshield Camping Barn

Holiday blues because you will have to be a part from your beloved canine friend, or face an extra charge for taking them with you?

We are open now to welcome you and your trusty canine companion. It is important to us that not only are you able to enjoy your stay, but your faithful friend does as well.
Because it is a no-frills location, our accommodation means that you can allow your dog into your room. That is unless you would rather not, your decision.
Adjacent to the Camping Barn, a small river and grassy area are excellent for allowing you and your dog some much-needed fun time. Just be mindful of other people, sheep that graze on the adjacent moors, and clear up afterwards. There is a suitable bin close to the Camping Barn.
There walks that lead straight from the door over the adjacent moors and valleys that will introduce you to the history, wildlife, wildflowers and fantastic scenery that the North Pennines AONB and Global Geopark have to offer. Due to the nature of the moors as breeding grounds for endangered birds such as Curlew, Snipe, Red Shank and Golden Plover, it is vital to follow the local guidelines by ensuring your dog is on a lead and stays on the footpaths. The North Pennines AONB website contains the details of these guidelines.
On returning to the Camping Barn, there are facilities to wash any mud off of your dog and maybe your boots, thereby keeping your room and your equipment that little bit cleaner.
All this and at no extra charge to spoil your dog by bringing it on holiday with you.
We are dog lovers and owners ourselves, so if you have problems during your stay, please let us know so we can help you resolve the issue.
We are looking forward to giving you and your furry friend a warm welcome to Carrshield Camping Barn.
