Dalehead Bunkhouse

…miles from it all…

Despite its proximity to Manchester and Sheffield, Dalehead Bunkhouse will feel ‘miles from it all’.

On a working sheep farm at the far end of Edale Valley you’ll be surrounded with the dramatic and striking Dark Peak scenery of northern Derbyshire. Kinder Scout is just to the north, falling just short of mountain height and with its proud place in social and countryside history, it calls to any walker. Edale is beautiful and popular but less ‘touristy’ than neighbouring Hope Valley, although the attractions of Castleton and its castle and caves may call to you on a rest day…

The opportunities for activity are all around you: walking, climbing, mountain biking, even hang-gliding are popular. Essentially though, they are all just ways of taking in the spectacular scenery and the peaceful seclusion.

The Bunkhouse itself is a renovated farmhouse clinging to the valley side. Gritstone walls and sturdy slab roof are echoed inside with the stone floor and exposed walls. A wood-burning stove warms the main room and provides heat fro the radiators which just continues the rustic charm.
