An award winning green independent hostel, Corris Hostel makes a great play of its eco-credentials. And why shouldn’t it? Setting an example with its close links to the nearby Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT), Corris offers locally sourced food and materials, composting, green purchasing and an all-pervading bohemian vibe. But what’s it like to stay there?

The first thing that’ll strike you is its enviable position in the landscape. Built of the distinctive local slate, it perfectly echoes the surrounding mountains and quarries. Cadair Idris looms nearby, views over the Dyfi Valley with its native ospreys, all the way down to the classic sandy beaches of Aberdyfi. Recent visitors have all been very positive. You get an overall feeling of friendliness and relaxation – which is pretty much all you could want!

“Fantastic hostel, lovely quaint and homely vibes, very friendly owners too. ”

“Amazing old schoolhouse in Corris, roomy, warm, the best welcome I have had in a hostel, made to feel like one of the locals.”

“Staying here was a gift. Beautiful people, comfortable facilities”

Sounds great, doesn’t it?
