London is possibly the best place in the UK to welcome in the New Lunar Year. Celebrations take place around the city, the main location being Chinatown of course. Delicious food, craft stalls and even parading dragons await. In the evening fireworks are used to ward off evil spirits bringing bad luck. This New Year is particularly special as it symbolizes the start of a new day, as it comes first in the Zodiac calendar. This is due to a tale in which the rat used cunning to outsmart the other Zodiac animals in a race. Clink 78 would like to extend a warm welcome to all wishing to get involved in this special time. With events running at the hostel on the 25th January, including a dragon making competition, red envelope surprise and fortune cookies.
