Camping Pods Coming to Derwentwater

Derwentwater Independent Hostel is reopening from 17th May with 3 band new four person camping pods.

Our new four person camping pods, will be installed and ready for May half term. These are simple camping pods, in a woodland setting looking out over the hostel lawn and up to Cat Bells and Maiden Moor. What could be better than sitting out on your own deck and watching the sun set, then retreating to the warmth of your heated pod, for a comfortable nights sleep, before being woken to the sound of woodland birdsong.

We’ve chosen simple camping pods, without bathrooms or a kitchen, to offer an alternative, for those who want to enjoy the outdoor feel of camping, but with the comforts of beds, lighting, heating and somewhere to charge your phone! It’s just a short walk up to the hostel for toilets, showers, lounge, games rooms and the self catering kitchen.

With two single beds and a double bed sized sleeping platform at the rear, with futon mattresses, our pods are perfect for families or groups of up to four adults. Bedding isn’t provided, but for those who are travelling light, or forget, a bedding pack can be hired at £5 per person per stay.

Summer prices for camping pods, start from £54 per night for families, and from £60 per night for all adult groups.

Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome in our pods, at £5 per dog per night, and should be booked, when you book your pod a www.derwentwater.org
