… beautiful beaches and rugged landscapes…
Here’s the thing. This is a wee hostel within a hotel. I know! Like a Russian doll of accommodation. The Invershin Hotel is family run and very friendly. There are 2 twin and 2 triple rooms in teh hostel with shared shower and toilet. Unusually for a hostel, there aren’t self-catering cooking facilities but the food on offer at the hotel is top notch and all home made.
Invershin is close to the East Coast of Scotland just north of Tain, just where the road dives inland towards the Highlands. This makes it a pretty good place to set off to explore the highlands and the coast. Situated close to the famous Falls of Shin and across the water from Carbisdale Castle, The Dornoch Firth with its beautiful beaches and rugged landscapes. I clearly remember being transfixed here by the salmon leaping up the river, which was a shame as I don’t think I looked enough at the view.
