At Ilderton Dod Barns, we have grazing available for several horses. Perhaps your stead would appreciate the views from the fields outside our cottages.
With 1800 acres of our own access land surrounding the holiday accommodation and thousands more beyond our boundaries there are several options for day rides with your horse and we have 5 pre-planned routes of varying lengths available. We can provide a 10 acre field for grazing, smaller ‘starvation’ paddocks, or space for you to create a pen for the duration of your stay. We also have plenty of parking for trailers and horseboxes. Access is easy up our 1.5 mile private drive and yet there is no need to go near a road to take in the local area. If you prefer, beach rides are only 15 miles away on quiet sandy beaches, and if you’d rather not bring your own horse, Kimmerston Riding Centre near Wooler organise beach rides on Holy Island.
If your horse needs a day off, there’s plenty of other options – walking, fell running, cycling, wildlife spotting, archaeological features and dark skies. Within 15 miles we have the towns of Alnwick and Wooler, plus a large list of stunning beaches and pretty villages. Ingram cafe is a pleasant 3 mile walk away and The Bosk is a quirky restaurant / bar / wedding venue, approximately 5 miles away.
