Blakebeck Farm

A simple and affordable camping barn in the Lake District

Blakebeck Farm Camping Barn was one of the first barns to be converted by the YHA to be used for accommodation for walkers and cyclists back in the distant past. It is an independent Camping Barn now but still maintains that simple and affordable vibe. £10 for a night’s stay, you can’t argue with that! With a kitchen, hot showrs and communal dining area, it offers more facilities than many camping barns.

The postal address says Penrith but it is equally close to Keswick, so you’re spoiled for choice for handsome country towns in the Lake District. For the more adventurously inclined, the camping barn sits on the coast to coast cycle route, the Cumbrian Way and all those amazing Lake District peaks.

The ‘Farm’ bit of the name gives us a chance to go ‘Aahh!’ over the alpacas and the Donkeys. You’ll have to recalibrate your sense of cute after you’ve seen the baby alpacas!
