Shining Cliff hostel has availability for October half term for Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire schools from 17th- 23rd October. This off-road, woodland hostel is a fabulous place for your children to explore a stunning ancient woodland with streams and millstone crags with you. Evenings can be spent around the stunning fire pit nestled against the Shining Cliff, making memories with your family and friends.

You can opt for hiring a room and sharing the hostel with other families, at £15 per adult and £5 per child, or you can hire sole use of the hostel for £120 per night on weeknights (sorry but the full hire price of £320/night applies on Friday and Saturday nights).
The hostel has 5 bedrooms, all with bunk beds – see the hostel website for room details and numbers of beds for each – a well equipped self-catering kitchen, open plan lounge and dining area and 3 bathrooms with showers and composting toilets.
The hostel is only accessible by foot or bike (hostel users have permission to take bikes along the public footpath). It is a wonderful adventure to get a bus or train to Ambergate, then walk up to the hostel with your children and Kate can provide a map with directions and a scavenger hunt for the walk! Or you can arrive by car, parking at the hostel car park in the woods and then using wheelbarrows to take your belongings the half mile along woodland footpaths to the hostel.
Logs and fire starting kits can be ordered before your visit, so you have less to carry, and all bedding is provided – so you just need your children, some clothes, food and toiletries for an awesome woodland adventure!
