Christmas breaks on the moors

Although the days are shorter the moors are colourful and there is always the chance of snow. Book a break with us and get away from the crowds and do something different. Your adventure starts here

The weather has turned cooler up in the North Pennines, but with each room having a log fire, you can still keep warm after a day exploring the area. Now is the time to plan for those Autumnal and Winter breaks exploring the valleys and moors, rivers and waterfalls. The colours will soon be changing from green to golden brown on the trees and bracken with the heather adding a deep brown to the mix.
The North Pennines AONB claim that this area is the last wilderness in England; it is undoubtedly a great place to escape and enjoy relative peace and quiet. Although the days are getting shorter, the walks, rides, and runs taken directly from our doorstep are all still achievable in daylight. As the year comes to a close, there will be a greater chance of snow on the moors and fells around Carrshield, so book a break and have some fun. We are fortunate that Northumberland County Council does terrific work in keeping the road into Carrshield open despite the snow and drifts.
Christmas away from the crowds and TV can be arranged by booking a festive break with us, although we cannot promise there is a greater chance of a White Christmas here than in most other places in the country.
