Dramatic history, fortified towns, stunning moors and canoeing !
Dramatic and facilitating, the area around the English-Scottish border is a land of dramatic history, fortified towns and stunning moors. Surprisingly it is also a great place for a canoeing trip. The waterways of northern Northumberland feel like Wind in the Willows territory, perfect for messing about on the river. The River Till rises to the east of the Cheviots and drains much of the east and northern flanks of the mountain range. It’s the only English tributary of the Tweed River.
