a2 milk at Blaze Farm

Blaze Farm, home of Underbank Camping Barn, are pioneers in natural milk without the A1 protein (often the cause of lactose intolerance).

Blaze Farm, home of Underbank Camping Barn, are pioneers in a natural milk which can be drunk without side effects by many people who traditionally suffer from milk intolerance.   There are two types of protein in cows milk A1 and A2.  The protein A1 can cause lactose intolerance in some people.   Some cows naturally produce milk with only one of these proteins and by selective breeding, Blaze Farm have produce a herd of 100%  A2 milk producing cows.  This means that if the A1 protein is causing your milk intolerance, you will be able drink A2 milk without any side effects.  A2 milk is available in many supermakets and if you fancy an escape to the Peak District plan a stay at Underbank Camping Barn and buy the milk on the farm.  Blaze farm also make Ice cream with their A2 milk although at the moment they need to use bought-in cream which does contain the A1 protein.
