Advanced dive groups will find this a real treat of a dive. The pipe sits at a max depth of 30m whereas the wreck itself drops to 45m and beyond, this is a challenging dive suitable for only seasoned divers due to the currents and planning of gas usage. It’s a long swim out to the Kintyre but prepared groups will be rewarded with a surprisingly intact steamer dating from the 1800’s, toilets are visible at midships (port side). And of course staying nearby you’ll be able to scout and plan ahead of time, parking near the Red house (listed building) is advisable, as is exploring Bute while you’re there.
