16th April 2022 is a special day. Thirty years ago and a Good Friday, 15th April 1992, Corris Youth Hostel re-opened to the public after a major refurbishment. The hostel had been gutted and as the first visitors were arriving, the workmen were leaving. There was a mutual meeting point where they shared a glass of wine. In addition, the school building is 150 years old this year.
Accommodating only groups right now, the hostel is very much in slumbers, a place of reflection and calming uplift. It is just too quiet here for a serious celebration, so perhaps a day of reflection in the garden, which is awakening with spring and always a great place to chill.
