OverviewTy Glyndwr is a fresh and modern hostel, café and bar within a Grade 2 listed Victorian building in the centre of the historical town of Caernarfon on the edge of Snowdonia National Park.. Individuals, groups and families are all welcome to this exciting new bunkhouse, perfectly situated just 50m from the UNESCO designated Caernarfon Castle and less than a minute on foot to the mesmerising Menai Straits. The bunkhouse offers B&B accommodation for 32 across 3 dorms, a private twin bunkroom and a family unit. Guests will relish the unique, luxury bunk beds, handcrafted out of recycled timbers. Without a self catering kitchen, a buffet continental breakfast is included in the room rate and you invited to eat your take away meals in the on-site cafe, where speciality teas, coffees and homemade cakes are served. Below the cafe, the cellar bar stocks the best Welsh beers, ciders and spirits and regularly hosts live music. The perfect place to unwind after a busy day. Ty Glyndwr is also your perfect base for exploring the rugged beauty and attractions of Snowdonia, with great public transport in and out of the National Park. For walkers it has the Wales Coast Path passing close by and for cyclists it is on the Lon Las Cymru. All linen is provided, towels can be hired, dogs are welcome by arrangement for a small fee and there are discounts for stays of one week or more. Directions:The above postcode will take you to Ty Glyndwr, it is located in a restricted parking zone within the town walls. Guests may drop off at the hostel and should park in one of the public car parks outside the town walls. For car parks follow LL55 1SR. There are a number of conveniently located public car parks to the north of Caernarfon town centre along Glan Môr and Balaclava Street, adjacent to Victoria Dock. If you are approaching Caernarfon on the A487 from either direction you should follow signs for Victoria Dock and park in one of the public car parks. To walk to the hostel continue from Balaclava St. straight ahead onto Glan Môr and through the town wall onto Stryd Pedwar a Chwech. Turn right onto the High St. for approximately 40m, the hostel will be on your left on the corner of Castle St.
Public Transport:The nearest train and main bus stations are in Bangor (9 miles away). Local buses travel regularly between Bangor station and Caernarfon. When travelling into Caernarfon alight at the main bus station on Penllyn Rd. Turn left onto Bridge St. then right as you enter Castle Square. Keeping the castle on your left follow Castle Ditch for approximately 50m and turn right into Castle St. Ty Glyndwr is 50m down the street on the corner of Castle St. and High St.
