Camping barn in Thirlmere, Lake District

Situated in Thirlmere at the foot of the Helvellyn range of mountains, close to Sticks Pass and spectacular Fisher-gill waterfall, with numerous walks and hill & rock climbing from the barn, it's an ideal place for touring the Lake District. Conveniently located being just off the A591 road, with local and national bus stops at the end of the lane. Accommodation consists of two rooms: a kitchen/diner and a sleeping area. There is a microwave, small oven, 2 ringed hob, fridge freezer, all pots, pans and tables and chairs. The sleeping area has 5 single beds with mattress, sheet, pillow and a quilt but it is essential to bring your own sleeping bag. Both rooms have a wood-burning stove with a daily allowance of wood included (extra is available from the farm). There's also a shower (£1 meter), toilet, and wash basin. Outside there is ample parking with a small patio area, tables and chairs. A pub serving meals is nearby (approx a quarter of a mile). Keswick is 5 miles, Grasmere 7 miles. Open all year. Pets by arrangement. The barn is ideal for quiet country retreats with no mobile signal or WiFi but is not suitable for late night drinking parties. A 2 bed Shepherds Hut is also available and there's B&B in the farmhouse.
