FSC Start Bay is a Field Studies Council centre with panoramic views of the South Devon coastline. This former school set in its own grounds now offers 4* accommodation to groups of 20-40. Facilities include a well equipped self catering kitchen, a large dining room and adjoining sitting room with interactive whiteboard, both of which can easily seat a group of 40. There's also a TV room and a separate games room. Outside you will find a BBQ area and terrace, a fire pit, low ropes course and a large enclosed garden. Available for sole use only, the centre is perfect for schools, clubs, and groups of friends and families. Surrounded by unspoilt countryside and overlooking Start Bay the centre gives a wonderful sense of remoteness but with the convenience having of the village of Slapton, with it's well stocked shop and pubs, nearby. There is lots to do in the local area; relax on Slapton Sands, explore Slapton Ley Nature Reserve, visit the lighthouse or go seal watching at Start Point and much more. The South West Coast Path and NCN 28 both pass close by and a range of outdoor activities can also be organised for your group. Overflow camping is also available. The centre has received the ‘Good to Go’ mark in recognition of following government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, ensuring processes are in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social/physical distancing.
A reservation deposit is required for all reservations, with full balance payable twelve weeks prior to arrival.

20 miles (30km) from the A38.
As part of the FSC's environmental commitment all visitors are encouraged to travel by coach or train.
Public Transport :
The nearest train station is Totes (13 miles). On the South West Main Line it is less than 3 hours direct from Birmingham New Street and London Paddington. Pick ups can be arranged.
The no 3 Stagecoach bus from Plymouth or Dartmouth to Slapton stops outside the centre.
For the more energetic the centre is on the South West Coastal Path and NCN route 28.
