South Moor Farm Camping Barn is situated in a wonderfully isolated position, on a working farm on the edge of Dalby Forest in the North York Moors National Park.

Surrounded by open farmland, the Camping Barn offers basic accommodation for up to 8 people. Formerly a stable and lambing shed it now offers guests a drier & wind-proof alternative to sleeping in a tent. Inside the barn which measures 18 feet by 25 feet, there is a cold water tap, a sink, microwave, kettle, fridge and a chemical toilet in a separate room. There is electricity and USB charging and the sleeping area has an insulated floor. Outside you'll find two cooking/BBQ areas, one of which is covered.

Please bring all your own camping equipment; sleeping bags, mats, crockery, utensils etc.

Guests enjoy the peace and tranquility of this unique setting. During the day there are trails in Dalby Forest to be explored on foot, mountain bike or even on horseback. Pickering, Scarborough and Whitby are all easily reached for a visit. And as night draws in the splendour of one of the best dark sky areas in the country will mesmerize young and old alike.

For those looking for some luxury there are B&B rooms in the farm house.

There is also space for 5 motor homes on site.

Dogs and horses welcome by arrangement.

    South Moor Farm is located 3.5 miles from Langdale End on Dalby Forest Drive which is signposted from Thornton le Dale & Hackness.From Ebberston on the A170 Pickering to Scarborough road, watch for The Grapes pub on right, in the dip of road at crossroad on left, sign Cliff House, holiday cottages. Turn left, before house (sign in black and white) , single track road to Givendale Head farm. Then on to ROUGH limestone forestry road towards Ebberston Common Farm. Bear right at first T junction. Bear left at second T junction. Pass turning for Ebberston Common Farm on right, go straight on, when the track meets the tarmac road carry straight on, we are on the right half a mile from joining the tarmac road. NO TOLL CHARGE on this route.From Hackness follow Dalby Forest Drive signs through Langdale End, past Bickley & Bickley Gate car park. We are 3.5 miles from Langdale End. NO TOLL CHARGE on this route.From Pickering follow A170(Scarborough) to Thornton le Dale. Turn left after pedestrian crossing just before Buck Inn (Signposted Dalby Forest Drive). 1¼ mile turn right into Dalby Forest. NOTE. THERE IS A £10 TOLL CHARGE USING THIS ROUTE. We are 8 miles past toll point, stay on the tarmac road. You will pass the Visitor Centre, Staindale Lake, Adderstone Field, & Jingleby Thorn Farm. We are 1 mile from Jingleby, in open fields on the right hand side, double gates with B & B signs, a half mile past the exit barrier.Contact us for reduced access charges during your stay with us.
