The former stone chapel, dating back to 1860, has been sympathetically converted to provide quality, warm, practical, value for money accommodation for individuals, couples, families and groups. The large open plan communal area has a well equipped kitchen, a large dining table and plenty of comfy chairs. Perfect for gathering together in the evening sharing stories and planning the next day's activities With a log burning stove, underfloor heating, comfortable beds and a drying room guests invariably return. Popular with climbers, walkers, cyclists and lovers of the great outdoor, Snowdonia and all its wonders is just outside. Bethesda with it shops, pubs etc is just 1.5 miles down the road. While Bangor and the bridge to Angelsey is 7 miles away. And if that isn't enough Zip World is a mere 2 minutes away. Easy to find (even the dark) on the A5 London to Holyhead Road there is plenty of parking as well as an outdoor seating area which gets the evening sun and is perfect for BBQs. BYO bedding and pillows. Dogs welcome by arrangement. For walkers it is on the Snowdonia Slate Trail and gives easy access for walking in Carneddau, Glyderau and of course the whole Ogwen Valley area while for cyclists it is on the Lon Las Cymru route. Overflow camping (for sole use groups) by arrangement in the adjoining 1 acre field.

Public Transport:Nearest mainline train station at Bangor (7 miles). Regular buses run from Bangor to Bethseda. Then walk (1.5 miles) or taxi to the bunkhouse.

Ogwen Valley Bunkhouse has 4kw of solar panels providing electricity, 30 tubes of thermal collectors providing hot water and central heating by air source heat pump.
You can’t get much greener then that, and did I mention that the water is straight from a fresh mountain stream.
Thinking about food miles, you can’t get much greener than local then water from Afon Berthan, a fresh mountain stream that passes by Ogwen Valley Bunkhouse. UV treated to remove any bugs, this you will feel this fresh Welsh Water doing you good.

A hardcore mountain bikers paradise, Snowdonia has endless off piste action and lots of structured trails just waiting to be attacked. Ogwen Valley Bunkhouse offers a brilliant place to experience it all.
Snowdonia, home to the UK’s first purpose built mountain bike center. For mountain bike enthusiasts it really doesn’t get much better. Whether you’re an amateur or pro there’s a trail to get stuck into, gorgeous scenery stretching for miles around. Fresh air being widely available in Wales there’s no excuse not to get out of breath rushing down some of the most stunning mountains in the country. From October to April cyclists have full use of the bridleways of Snowdon, just watch out for walkers and goats! And fortunately the Bunkhouse allows bikes to be stored inside for peace of mind.

If you’re in need of fresh air or simply wish for a bit of one on one time with your dog. Ogwen Valley will not disappoint,
Ogwen valley may well be one of the most scenic hostels you will ever visit, the rolling hills that make way for mountains have to be seen to be believed. Cycle, walk or if you’re feeling adventurous zip wire through the incredible Snowdonia national park.
Snowdon itself is only half an hour by car if you’re up for a challenge, as well as other less demanding mountains nearby, and for when you’re done trekking don’t forget to visit some of the many quaint welsh pubs dotted around the area.
With so little light pollution starry nights here are truly breath taking. This great value self catering hostel is dog friendly, allowing you to walk in the clouds accompanied by a faithful hound.
