N°5 Drinishader is located on the Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides, 5 miles from Tarbert and 8 miles from the famous white sandy beaches. Situated above Drinishader harbour, overlooking the beautiful East Loch Tarbert, the hostel and self-catering units provide a variety of accommodation for individuals, families and groups as well as activities. The hostel has a cosy lounge with open fire, a well-equipped kitchen, shower, WC and comfortable beds. Pick-up services from Tarbert can be arranged for a small cost if there are no bus services. Among the activities guests enjoy are coastal/hill walking, cycling, kayaking, boat trips, sightseeing and bird/wildlife watching. Breakfast and packed lunches are available. From Tarbert follow the A859 south. After 3.5km turn left along the Golden Road. The hostel is located just above the small harbour in Drinishader.
Caledonian MacBrayne ferries (01876 500337) from Ullapool to Stornoway or from Uig (Skye) to Tarbert. Drinishader is a 10 min bus journey from Tarbert (01851 705050). Bus stop at hostel. There are 3 – 5 buses each day.
