Community run bunkhouse in the Scottish Borders

Located in the heart of Newcastleton, the bunkhouse is a perfect venue for friends, families, and groups to spend time enjoying the spectacular Liddesdale countryside. Opened in 2022 and run by the local community as a social enterprise this bright and airy bunkhouse sleeps up to 14 in 3 en suite rooms. You can either book by the room or book the whole bunkhouse.

Facilities include an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge. The kitchen has a 5-ring induction hob and double oven with grill, a built in microwave, a fridge, a freezer, dishwasher, toaster and kettle plus plenty of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. The dining area seats 14. There's a large drying room with a sink for washing muddy boots and a laundry service (charges apply, booking required). Outside you'll find a seating area with picnic tables. Each room is allocated a secure outdoor pod equipped with a bike rack and loads of space to store any large items.

With the Newcastleton 7stanes Mountain Bike trails and walking routes starting in the village, the bunkhouse is very popular with cyclists, walkers and families. The Reivers Cycle route passes the doorstep and the Cross Border Trail starts very close by.

Set in village, with amenities and eateries close by and the option of renting out separate space in 'The Hub' for training, crafting or workshops this little bunkhouse has a lot going for it.
