Are you looking for Christmas accommodation for a group of up to 12 people? Perhaps in an undiscovered picturesque Scottish town nestled in the hills? Maybe a short stroll from a distillery? Possibly down the road from one of the UK’s biggest waterfalls?

We have the answer! Take a whole-hostel booking from 23rd-27th December at Moffat Hostel in Southern Scotland! We have two cosy lounges, a pool table, a self-catering kitchen, and five ensuite bedrooms that can accommodate up to 12 people.

Spend a cosy Christmas night in with our collection of board games, as well as our stunning 7 foot pool table. Our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need for making Christmas dinner, and the adjacent dining room can comfortable seat 12 people. Whilst having dinner you can spin some of our vinyl records on the turntable – you’re sure to find some Christmas classics in the collection!

For active days out you will find country walking routes starting direct from the hostel gates, or alternatively travel 20 minutes in the car to the Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall (one of the highest in the UK) where you can hike an hour into the hills to marvel at beautiful Loch Skeen in all its winter glory!

Moffat has a selection of excellent cafes, restaurants and independent shops – as well as it’s own distillery.

The nightly rate is £600, with a three night minimum stay. Note that we have a no dog policy, requested by the hostel cat.

We have recently re-opened our games room which now has rather smart seven-foot pool table. Shoot a few frames, play cards, chess, or one of our selection of board games in this grand old Victorian front room with its large original fireplace and huge bay windows!
