Cows and Gaols in Northumbria

March 3rd 2021

We’d like to inspire you with some of the wonderful things you could get up to in and around Greencarts Bunkhouses and Camping.

A working farm nestled in the Northumbrian countryside Greencarts is ideal for a relaxing break. The area is well known for its rich history, the town of Hexham with a lot of potential for days out. Hexham Old Gaol being one of them, being believed to be the oldest prison in the country it’s now a museum where you can learn more about the marches and their medieval history. Or there’s Hexham Abbey with its roman carvings.

But of course there’s plenty else to see if history isn’t your cup of tea. See the countryside in all it’s glory on a long walk through the wonderful scenery. The choice is yours.
