Greencarts Bunkhouses and Camping are situated on a working farm in the beautiful Tyne Valley on the south eastern edge of Northumberland National Park. Surrounded by open farmland with glorious views of the countryside you can switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With Hadrian's Wall a stone's throw away Greencarts is very popular with 'Wallers' either on two feet or two wheels and early booking is advised.
The Bunkhouse sleeps 10 in two rooms and has a well equipped kitchen, dining area and shower/WC. While the Barn is an open plan room sleeping 13 with a dining area and kitchenette. Guests in the Barn use the campsite's high standard shower/WC facilities. All bedding is provided and a continental breakfast is available. For larger groups there are camping pitches and electric hookups on the campsite. Available to individuals, families or groups you can book a bed, a room, sole use of either unit or the entire place. The Barn is not heated so is only available from mid May until the end of August. Greencarts is popular with DofE and scout groups and as a wedding, event venue.
Local attractions include Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Water, The Scottish Borders, Alnwick Castle & Gardens and The National Trust site of Cragside. Both east and west coasts are within one hour's drive.

Directions:
If heading along the military (B6318) road from the west, you need to ignore the first left hand turn as it brings you down a farm track and instead head to the crossroads and turn left here. We are then the first left hand turn. If you are coming from the east you need to turn right at the crossroads.
Public Transport :
Trains to Hexham then the Hadrian's Wall bus, AD122 from Hexham. They can drop you at our road end.

A working farm nestled in the Northumbrian countryside Greencarts is ideal for a relaxing break. The area is well known for its rich history, the town of Hexham with a lot of potential for days out. Hexham Old Gaol being one of them, being believed to be the oldest prison in the country it’s now a museum where you can learn more about the marches and their medieval history. Or there’s Hexham Abbey with its roman carvings.
But of course there’s plenty else to see if history isn’t your cup of tea. See the countryside in all it’s glory on a long walk through the wonderful scenery. The choice is yours.

Greencarts Bunkhouses provide accommodation for long distance walkers in groups or as individuals. There are two accommodation units: The Bunkhouse sleeps 10 in two rooms, while the Barn sleeps 13 in one open plan room. All bedding is provided and continental breakfast is available.
