Five Sunnyside Micro Hostel in Bideford, North Devon is Open!
June 21st 2021
The refurbishment of Five Sunnyside has now been completed just in time to welcome our first guests a family of keen cyclists keen to explore the Tarka Trail and the stunning North Devon coastline!
Our approach to the refurbishment of Five Sunnyside was to preserve as much as the character and quirkiness of the property whilst creating a practical, comfortable and relaxing retreat. Much of the furniture was sourced from the Devonshire community reuse organisation “Refurnish” who promote the re-use of safe and serviceable second-hand furniture to help minimise waste going to landfill. A concession to this approach was made with the provision of brand new beds in both bedrooms providing a touch of luxury with quality pocket sprung mattresses.
Although Five Sunnyside has no garden, the small back yard has received a facelift which includes the planting of a small edible herb garden in a raised border and the provision of outdoor seating.
We’re delighted with the results of our efforts and are confident that Five Sunnyside will provide a great place to stay in North Devon!
