Situated in Thirlmere at the foot of the Helvellyn range of mountains, close to Sticks Pass and spectacular Fisher-gill waterfall, with numerous walks, hill and rock climbing from the barn, it’s an ideal place for touring the Lake District being just off the A591 road, with local and national bus stops at the end of the lane. Accommodation consists of two rooms: a kitchen/diner with fridge, 4 ring calor gas stove, kettle, toaster, tables and chairs, all pots, pans etc and a sleeping area consisting of 10 bunk beds with mattresses, pillows, blankets and duvets (sleeping bags/liners are required). Both rooms have a wood-burning stove with a daily allowance of wood included (extra is available from the farm). There’s also a shower cubicle (metered), toilet, wash basin and a small seating area. Outside there is ample parking with a small patio area, tables and chairs. A pub serving meals is nearby (approx a quarter of a mile).
Keswick is 5 miles, Grasmere 7 miles. Open all year. Pets by arrangement. The barn is ideal for quite country retreats, not suitable for late night drinking parties.This accommodation is featured on our map of the Lake District and here is its own website.

Travelling on the A591 SE from Keswick, after about 5 miles take 1st lane on left after junction with B5322. Barn is after about 100m.
Local and national buses stop at the end of the lane on A591.
