I have regular bookings from walking groups and kayakers, but a huge variety of families love the place too.
Dacre’s Stable suits all sorts and ages of people. I have regular bookings from walking groups and kayakers, but a huge variety of groups and families love the place. It is enjoyed in so many ways; mainly for the peaceful, relaxed location, but also for the endless variety of landscape and interesting attractions in the area, more than can be done in one short stay. Kendal is a lively Festival Town, with museums, art gallery, arts centre theatre and cinemas, leisure centre, restaurants, a great climbing wall, and good communications. Within 20 mile radius of the Stable are lakes, mountains, rivers and tourist attractions; water sports and golf courses, theatre, National Trust properties, historic farms, mills and mines, houses and gardens and steam railways. Two local villages have outdoor heated swimming pools; there is climbing in the fells and caving in the Dales, and much more besides.
Look out for the circular Independent Hostels sign, to be sure of special place to stay.
Dacres Stable has an idyllic position, hidden away along a gated road in one of the lesser know vales of the Lake District. This accommodation is a must for families who love ponies and anyone who want to get away from it all.
