Colonsay Backpackers Lodge is located on a peaceful and idyllic Inner Hebridean island to the south of Mull which boasts magnificent sandy beaches, ancient forests and beautiful lochs. The place is teeming with wildlife which includes dolphins, seals, otters and many rare species of bird. There are ancient standing stones and a 14th century priory with exceptional carved Celtic tombstones. The famous Colonsay House, gardens and café are open to visitors three times a week. The pub, café, shop and village hall, where there are regular ceilidhs, are all within three miles. The best oysters in the world are grown on Colonsay. Play a round of golf or treat yourself to a meal in the hotel. The lodge is a refurbished former gamekeeper's house with bothies. Centrally heated, it has 2 twin, 3 twin bunk and 2 three-bedded rooms. It has a large dining/cooking/sitting area and a sitting room with coal fire. Bed linen, towels and WiFi provided.

    Train and coach to Oban. Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Colonsay takes 2.5 hours. Flights Hebridean Air from Connel

Guests old and new, please note that we are closing for the winter months. We will be opening again in April 2021. We look forward to welcoming you, your family and hopefully your friends too and sharing our magical island.
