OverviewCaldbeck Glamping accommodation is in the centre of Caldbeck Village in the Northern Lake District. Step back in time with these newly renovated grade 2 listed barns dating from 1666.
The Cumbria Way walk and The Reivers Cycle route pass through the village. The Wainwright Fells of the north Lake District are within walking distance and the area is popular with cyclists. With many pretty villages to visit on quiet roads, this is an ideal base for a cycling holiday. Mountain bikers can explore trails around the “Back O’Skiddaw” fells. Mountain bike up to Skiddaw House (which is also in on this website) have a coffee, then explore your way back via Mosedale to Caldbeck.
High Pike Glamping Barn sleeps 8 on single beds. Carrock Fell Glamping Barn sleeps 6 on single beds. Both barns have one open plan bedroom, a shower room with toilet, kitchen, TV, WiFi and log burner. The Bothy sleeps up to 4 on a sleeping platform, it has a kitchen, shower room with toilet and exclusive use of the Finnish Sauna and Whiskey Barrel Ice Bath.
Use of the Sauna and Ice Bath is also available to groups booking the main barns (for a fee) if the Bothy is not occupied.
Please bring your own sleeping bags. Pillows, pillow cases & towels are provided. If you require a fully made bed please ask for a price.
There is also space for up to 3 two person tents (please check if this is available as an individual booking or as part of a larger group). Free parking is available directly opposite the barns and throughout the village without any restrictions.
All the units are let for sole use but rates for individuals may be available. Please get in touch to enquire.
The village has many amenities including a general store & shop (open every day) with petrol station. Hairdressers, ice cream parlour & cafe, gift shops. Also the “The Priest Mill” which is an arts & crafts centre, with gift shops and cafe.
Secure cycle storage is available on site. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.

Directions:Caldbeck is a 25 minute drive from M6 motorway. The glamping barns are opposite The Odd Fellows Pub in the centre of Caldbeck village.

Caldbeck Glamping Barns provide homely barns in an exceptionally dog friendly town situated within the Lake District
Fully decked out with log burners, Wifi and a self catering kitchen with all the utensils. Caldbeck Glamping Barns are excellent for experiencing the lakes without losing any creature comforts. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement and the village of Caldbeck is very dog friendly. All the cafes are welcoming to well behaved pooches and the pub across the road even has treats and menus for your dog. Caldbeck is a great place to bring your dog on a holiday and explore this lovely remote Lakeland area. Please note..sheep have a right of way in the village and often they wander round right pass the barns and in the village centre, it is advisable to keep your dog on a lead while walking around the village, you’ll meet a lot of like minded dog owners and your pooches will have a great time in Caldbeck

Whenever you are standing in this North Lakes village you will see cyclists zipping through or making a stop at the pub or cafes! Mountain bikers can explore “The Back O’Skiddaw” route, up to Skiddaw House and on to Keswick or Threlkeld then make your way back, all off road. Road cyclists will be in there element with an abundance of scenic and relatively traffic free roads. A well known loop is to cycle through Hesket, Mosedale, Mungrisedale, Threlkeld, Keswick, then to Bassenthwaite, Uldale and finishing back in Caldbeck.
We have a large cycling barn to store your bikes in, also there are stands just outside the rear of the accommodation to push your wheels in and get yourselves prepared before you set off. This is under a roof also. If you decide to keep your bike here then bring your own lock. Otherwise just leave your bike in our large barn which is locked and secure. Cycling is a pretty big thing around this area!! Whenever you are standing in the village you will see cyclists zipping through or making a stop at the pub! With plenty of cafes also, a village shop and gift shops, our accommodation is the perfect base for a cycling break or weekend exploring the lovely meandering roads of the North Lake District area.
