OverviewAshclyst Farm Hostel is a charming National Trust farm house on an organic arable farm at the edge of Ashclyst Forest. Your hosts Martyn & Lorraine are tenant farmers for the Killerton Estate. Their spacious farmhouse has five private rooms with three twins and two doubles. The beds are fully made up with duvets and the bedrooms are spacious and quiet. Guests have full use of the farmhouse kitchen, dining rooms and lounge. There is a walled courtyard which leads to the old wash-house and servants quarters which now provide secure cycle storage and space for drying wet gear. Larger groups are welcome to camp in the Orchard, just off the courtyard and share the farmhouse facilities with the rest of their group. Dogs are welcome in the Orchard with campers, by arrangement.
The rural location and quite roads are ideal for families, walkers and cyclists, wanting to enjoy the Devon Countryside. Ashclyst Forest is on the doorstep and is perfect for wildlife, walks and picnics. Days at the seaside are effortless with Exmouth (15 miles) and Sidmouth (13 miles) a short drive away. It is an easy journey to both Dartmoor & Exmoor National Parks, and Exeter City is just 8 miles away. The Two Counties Way Long Distance Path is within 2 miles and the the Topsham to Exmouth off road cycle route, part of National Cycle Route 2, is 8 miles away.

The hostel has lockable bike storage shed and space for repairs. This combined with its location, which is nearby to various cycle ways make Ashclyst superb for anyone on two wheels
Ashclyst Farm is located on the edge of Ashclyst forest. Plenty of quiet roads and cycle routes nearby make a popular spot with cyclists. The National Cycle Route 2 also happens to be just 8 miles away. Or for longer distance maybe a cycle to the coast and back to work up an appetite. Speaking of Ashclyst Farm has a well stocked self catering kitchen, but if you’re not up for cooking there are lots of village pubs within cycling distance.

A beautiful national trust farm full of walks to get lost in
This beautiful dog friendly farmhouse is the ideal spot for a family holiday or camping trip. Ashclyst forest being practically on the doorstep there’s more than enough chance to loose yourself within the trees, bringing a picnic is highly recommended. With secure cycle storage and plenty of cycle routes an active group can have no end of fun. It’s also only a short drive to the beaches of Sidmouth and Exmouth, your dog will be grateful for a frolic on the seafront. For the seafood lovers, Sidmouth market offers a selection of locally caught fresh fish. After a long day you’ll be happy to retire to this homely farmhouse.

This hostel provides spacious private rooms and a farm house experience just 10 mins from the M5 and 30 mins from the coast at Sidmouth. And if you miss your weekend run you can try the local Killerton parkrun as a great way to start your Saturday morning.
