OverviewThe Allendale Bunkhouse opened in October 2014 after being completely refurbished and thoroughly modernised. It sits on the market square in Allendale, overlooking the hustle and bustle of a small countryside town and the fells and river beyond. An oasis for walkers, cyclists, horse riders, families, groups of friends and youth & school groups alike. Allendale is well served with tea rooms, the Forge art gallery & café, a quirky gift shop, pharmacy, Allendale medical practice and the library. Three pubs, all serving food, are a stone's throw away from the bunkhouse. There is also bike hire (electric, mountain and hybrid bikes) and the C2C cycle trail runs close by. Art, heritage and music events run throughout the year across the valley. Book a bunk, a room, a floor (up to 18) or the whole bunkhouse (up to 38) for your group. Downstairs is a large open plan area with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area with seating for up to 34 and a lounge area with comfortable sofas to relax. Double french doors lead onto a BBQ, seating and patio area with steps into the large landscaped garden.

Booking:Via telephone or email. A deposit will be required. Person in charge of the booking must be aged 21 or older. Please note: we only take bookings of min. 2 nights and min 20 guests in our main season (April-Oct).

Public Transport:Nearest train stations: Hexham or Haydon Bridge. Buses available to Allendale Market Place. Pick up service can be arranged.

Two “family bubbles” per floor can be accommodated at Allendale Bunkhouse with no cross use of bathrooms (all rooms are either ensuite or have allocated bathroom). The kitchen facilities are only used by members of two households at any one time and the kitchen is disinfected after cooking. There is a small private garden and a large shared garden with BBQ facilities and bonfire pits.
