Seasonal Live In Hostel Assistant(s) – Lake District Hostel – £8.91ph – 25 to 42.5hrs per week

We are looking to recruit two seasonal Hostel Assistants (Live In Available) to join our team of nine staff plus volunteers at our busy Lake District Hostel. Start dates are available in May and June 2021. Derwentwater Independent Hostel is an 88 bed hostel, two miles south of Keswick in the Borrowdale valley, standing in its own grounds between the Lake and the Falls.

The hostel is busy throughout the year with school and university groups in the spring, summer & autumn, and is popular with adult groups, families and individual guests at weekends and during school holidays.

Working to the end of October, your working week will include a mixture of early, late and split shifts, which will include food preparation & service, reception and housekeeping. We’d love to hear from you if you have previous hostel or kitchen experience. With some split shifts and at least 2 days off per week, the work will suit an active person looking to make the most of a season in the heart of the Lake District.

Hours of work are from 25 to 42.5 hours per week, worked across 3, 4 or 5 days per week.

Live in single room accommodation is available within a shared staff flat in the hostel, with the option to opt in and pay for full hostel meals. A charge is made for accommodation.
