We are open all year round, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day, with access from our front door on to the hills and valleys of the Long Mynd. You may not feel it’s worth the effort but winter walks can be amazing so long as you have the right walking gear. That doesn’t have to be expensive – lots of second hand gear shops to choose from.

You may ask ‘Why go when the weather is bad?’ The scenery changes every day, our trickling streams can turn in to white water; watch the buzzards battling the winds; see the colours changing and – if you’re lucky – be the first person to stand on pristine snow. Walks can be short- down to Church Stretton for hot chocolate and cake or long ones which usually take in a pub with craft beer, good food and a roaring log burner. Give it a go – we do, most days!
