The stone cottage within the grounds of Hawse End Outdoor Centre formed part of the YHA network from 2005. It was featured in their “Escape To” leaflets and later promoted as a YHA facility available for exclusive group hire. It is now available to book through the Independent Hostel network, as well as directly via the Cumbria County Council–run Hawse End Centre.
Hawse End Centre in the Lake District sits at the head of the magnificent Borrowdale Valley on the shores of Derwentwater. Guests enjoy easy access to Keswick and the mountains beyond via launch or lakeside walk.
The house is a large, comfortable, country mansion ideal for large groups, while the cottage is more suited to smaller groups or large families.
